I tell stories using theatre, film, music and technology. (Sometimes all at once.) Usually as a director, but as a writer, dramaturg, producer or general creative collaborator when the project calls for it.

A trained filmmaker with over fifteen years of experience working in the arts, I'm particularly excited by exploration of the new - be it new ways of developing live experiences, projects that incorporate emerging technologies, or leading participatory work that opens storytelling to those without a creative background.

As a theatre/opera director, I have worked with organisations such as the National Theatre, Young Vic, Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Salisbury Playhouse, Garsington Opera, Roundhouse London, Trafalgar Studios and Theatre503, and have directed shows at Assembly Hall and Gilded Balloon for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I have assisted directors including Richard Jones, Iqbal Khan, Edward Dick, Jack Furness, Tim Albery and Christopher Alden, and worked for two years with White Horse Theatre in Germany, the world's largest touring educational theatre company.

Alongside traditional stage productions, I create immersive and installation works with an emphasis on creative use of sound design. These have been presented at museums and high streets, on boats and buses, and in theatres and abandoned offices, among other places. Much of my work is developed through R&D activity, including projects funded by Arts Council England exploring the use of technologies such as VR, spatial audio, livestreaming and electroencephalogram sensors in live performance.

I have been an Associate Artist of Proteus Theatre and a recipient of the Young Vic Jerwood and JMK Trust bursaries, and ran Creative Garage - a development and performance space for theatre-makers in the South of England.

My work as a filmmaker includes WRESTLING YETIS, which was described in the Independent as "funny, heart-warming... a sweet comedy" and has been screened at venues including the BFI Southbank, the House of Commons, the Olympic Park and the Roundhouse. Other films have screened at venues including Channel 4 HQ and Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, and on ShortsTV and BBC Big Screens around the country.

Unrelated hats include having a hardcore interest in water efficiency (including speaking at events/summits around the world) and being a "Global Theme Park Expert" according to the Discovery Channel. Still can't decide which gets me more nerd points.
